This study is done to find out if the program is effective on improvement of learning new nouns, verbs. and adjectives on metal retarded children with limited ability of words, as well as effective on development of semantic relation and on improvement lexical diversity that children take in. The participants for this study are three children with developmental years of 3 to 4 and IQ of 50 to 70. This study is examined by Ab Design which contains 3 main processes; 1) Pre-test Stage, 2) Treatment Stage, 3) Post-test Stage. The program is designed to examine the preparatory stage to select target words and treatment stage contains 3 main precesses such as word exposure stage, word comprehensive stage, word expressive stage. The results for the study are shown as below.; First, all participated children under the study have improved their ability to learn new vocabularies. Especially, ti has been more effective on comprehensive ability of vocabulary than expressive ability of vocabulary. Second, all participants have positive changes in semantic relation. Third, all participated children under the study have improved their TTR As on can see results above, the fast mapping program is certainly effective on improving linguistic competence of the mental retarded children.
